Podcasting in Peterborough

November 27, 2018

On the crisp, foggy morning of Saturday 17th November Jade & Aimée travelled 2 hours to Peterborough to attend a Writing & Podcast Masterclass with Ross Sutherland of the ‘Imaginary Advice’ podcast.

Ross is a writer and performer. He works across theatre, film and radio. Ross created the experimental fiction podcast, ‘Imaginary Advice’ and in 2018, the podcast won gold for Best Fiction at the British Podcast Awards. Congratulations Ross, what an achievement! You can visit his website here.

The Masterclass was so informative, Ross really knows his field well. He gave them some amazing tips for our upcoming children's podcast 'Storytime with Dodl Bear' and our publishing podcast, 'The Write Way'.

The class was hosted at Metal, a superb venue; unique and colourful, just like the attendants on this course. Aimée & Jade met so many amazing people, from all different backgrounds, with very different podcast goals, ideas, and journeys.

It was a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people, to network and in such a safe, positive space.

The two ladies also had a chance to explore Peterborough City Centre…

Through Daisa & Co, they have journeyed to Peterborough on two occasions; meeting with the Printers in early October and now the Masterclass.

Peterborough is a lively city, with great architecture and friendly people. And what better time to visit, than the run up to Christmas? The city centre was decked out for the festive season, with lights, baubles, wreathes and of course, a huge Christmas tree!

There were ‘lost elves’ roaming around the city, meeting & greeting children. There were German market stalls offering incredible food (and chocolate!) It was bustling, the atmosphere electric!

A few hours later, having completed the Masterclass, we journeyed home, buzzing with inspiration and excitement over our projects.

Daisa & Co has a burning desire to make the world a better place, to spread positivity and create opportunities that will help people grow and inspire others.

All we can say now is… “Watch this space!”
